Twenty one colourful pups perch playfully in four rows on this jolly poster by Hajnal Gabriella for a 1984 Hungarian re-release of Walt Disney's animated adventure One Hundred and One Dalmatians. Based on the 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith, Disney's seventeenth animated feature film followed the dognap of a litter of Dalmatian puppies by the fur-crazed Cruella de Vil. In rescuing their adorable brood from the villainous Cruella, parents Pongo and Perdita save and subsequently adopt 84 additional puppies, bringing the total Dalmatians to 101. Originally released in 1961 to great box office success, the enduring family film later spawned a live-action adaptation and sequel.
