Paramount's 1968 sexy science fiction comedy 'Barbarella,' based on the Italian comic book of the same name, follows Jane Fonda as the titular 41st century space-vixen, tasked with finding fugitive scientist Durand Durand whose deadly positronic ray could spell the end of humanity. Though it premiered to mixed reviews, the film is now considered a cult classic, influencing Jean Paul Gaultier's costume designs for 'The Fifth Element' and inspiring the name of pop band Duran Duran. Fittingly, top Czech comics illustrator and graphic artist Kája Saudek was chosen to design the poster for the first Czech release of the film in 1971. Saudek's superb comic book style artwork of the buxom Barbarella has made this one of the most coveted Czech movie posters for collectors. Originally issued to theatres in both a large and small format, this is the small format or 'Czech A3' version of the poster.

Condition

Wear consistent with age and use. Unfolded, not backed. Minor bumps to corners and a tiny dog-ear to lower right corner. Image and colours excellent.
