A scarce small format concert poster for a New Year's Eve performance by Nirvana with support from the Butthole Surfers and Chokebore at the Oakland Coliseum, California, on 31 December 1993, presented by legendary concert promoter Bill Graham and emceed by comedian "Bobcat" Goldthwait. Apparently inspired by the release of Nirvana's third studio album 'In Utero' three months prior, poster artist Harry Rossit illustrated Kurt, Krist and Dave as a trio of embryos in utero - Kurt identified by his stubble and "K" tattoo and Dave by his shoulder tattoo. Printed by Great Impressions, San Francisco, and numbered BGP-90 in the Bill Graham poster series, the bright blue and red design was intended for viewing with 3D glasses, making the zany artwork pop. 'In Utero' topped the UK and US album charts on release and was certified platinum by late 1993. The band hit Oakland as part of a North American tour in support of the album, which would wrap a week later in their home town of Seattle. Nirvana would disband only a few months later following Cobain's suicide on 8 April 1994.
