Artist Ferenc Molnár confronts us with a gun-toting gangster in triplicate on his splattered monochrome poster for the first Hungarian release of the sprawling 1984 crime epic Once Upon a Time in America. Starring Robert De Niro and James Woods, Sergio Leone's 229-minute swansong chronicled the lives of four childhood friends, rising from the Jewish ghettos to become merciless mobsters in Prohibition-era New York, the episodic narrative told through a tapestry of flashbacks, memories, and dreams. While Leone's original version was critically acclaimed as 'an epic poem of violence and greed,' the film was a commercial flop in the US after the American distributors drastically cut and rearranged the scenes without Leone's involvement. The original European cut consistently ranks as one of the greatest gangster films of all time.

Condition

Very good to excellent (B+/A-)

Not backed. One soft partial horizontal fold. A few minor nicks to edges and bumps to corners. Spots of creasing through centre of image. Hint of surface soiling to lower corners. Image and colour otherwise excellent.
