A rare uncut printer's proof for a concert poster by David Singer and photographer Jim Marshall for a one-night-only performance by the legendary Aretha Franklin with King Curtis and the Kingpins, Cold Blood and Tower of Power at the Los Angeles Ballroom at the Century Plaza Hotel in LA on 27th February 1971. Numbered BG272 in the Bill Graham poster series, the same design was reused the following weekend when the soul queen appeared at the Fillmore West for a three night engagement and recorded her third live album Aretha Live at Fillmore West. The uncut poster proof has been boldly signed in silver ink by poster designer David Singer.

    Provenance

    Very Good (B+)

Unfolded cardstock, not backed. Creasing, age toning and faint moisture stains to margins, predominantly to upper edge. A few inky fingerprints to edges from the printing process. Fine surface scuffs. Image and colours otherwise excellent.
