Screen siren Raquel Welch sizzles in "mankind's first bikini' on this striking Australian Daybill poster for Hammer Films unforgettable prehistoric fantasy adventure One Million Years B.C. The quintessential image of a fur-clad Welch formed the centrepiece of Hammer's marketing campaign, becoming a best-selling pinup poster and, years later, famously featuring as part of the prison escape plot in the 1994 drama The Shawshank Redemption. Set in a fictional age of co-existing cavemen and dinosaurs, the fearsome creatures were painstakingly animated by stop-motion master Ray Harryhausen, years before the advent of CGI special effects.

Condition

Near Mint (A)

Conservation backed on linen. Backing has smoothed and diminished two horizontal machine folds so that they are virtually invisible. Image and colours excellent.
