A little bit of history wrapped up in an eye-poppingly colourful package, this US One-Sheet poster teases the originally scheduled release date of June 5, 2020 for the DC Universe superheroine sequel Wonder Woman 1984, prior to it's delayed release due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. The hotly anticipated sequel to 2017's Wonder Woman, Patty Jenkin's WW84 had already endured a number of scheduling changes even before coronavirus caused chaos in the film industry, having been moved forward to a November 2019 release from the original December slot to avoid competition with Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker and James Bond's No Time To Die, before production delays pushed it back to 5th June 2020. With US theatres closed for an uncertain period of time due to the pandemic, the US theatrical release was delayed to August, then October, before settling on Christmas day 2020, becoming one of the first tentpole movies to premiere on a streaming service simultaneously with a theatrical release.

Designed by WORKS ADV, the staggeringly vibrant and retro poster features Gal Gadot in power stance, suited and booted in glimmering gold armour as Wonder Woman, against a saturated lightning burst of rainbow colour forming two bright W's. Printed double-sided for use in a cinema light-box, the vivid eighties-inspired design would knock your socks off when lit from behind. The teaser artwork also gave DC Comics fans their first hint that Diana would don her superhuman Gold Armour in the sequel, giving her the ability to fly. Issued to promote the June release, this knockout teaser would have been withdrawn from cinemas when the release date was delayed, to be replaced by a new design advertising the rescheduled release date. The ninth installment in the DC Extended Universe, the film sees Gadot reprise her role as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman, alongside Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen. Set in 1984 during the Cold War, the film follows Diana and her past love Steve Trevor as they face off against Maxwell Lord and Cheetah.
