An uber cool Australian Daybill for the 1967 American prison drama Cool Hand Luke starring Paul Newman in an Oscar nominated performance as the titular anti-hero, a free spirited prisoner who refuses to conform to the system, as indicated by the poster's tagline The man...and the motion picture that simply do not conform. Acclaimed as one of the key movies of the sixties, the film's anti-establishment ethos touched a nerve during a time of growing opposition to the Vietnam War. The Australian Daybill was printed using stone lithography based on US artist James Bama's superb illustration for the American poster campaign. Although a similar format, Australian Daybills are significantly rarer than US Insert posters.

Conservation backed on linen. Backing has smoothed and diminished two horizontal folds, minor corner creases and a few nicks to edges no larger than ¼in. Very minor edge loss to the right of 'Newman.' Image and colours excellent.
