A stunning stone lithography poster for Hitchcock's psychological masterpiece The Birds, based on Daphne du Maurier's 1952 short story of the same name, starring Tippi Hendren in her debut role. The suspense-filled thriller set in an eerie Northern California coastal town besieged by a series of unexplained violent bird attacks remains one of the most terrifying films ever made. Although a similar format, Australian Daybills are significantly rarer than U.S. Inserts.

Backed on linen. Prior to backing this poster had two horizontal machine folds, pinholes to upper corners and a few minor nicks to edges. Backing has smoothed out the folds and light retouching has diminished the pinholes. Image and colours excellent.
